American Window Film installed solar ceramic film to a home in Long Beach, California! The homeowner has an oceanfront property with large windows on every side to utilize the views as much as possible. The customer was experiencing issues we have talked a lot about in the past: heat, glare, and sun fading. Being located in Southern California, the unit stays hot throughout the entire day, year-round. The sun beams through the windows making the space hot and uncomfortable to be in. Not to mention, these rays that are coming through the windows are putting the floors and furniture in jeopardy of sun fading.
The customer wanted to be proactive and get these issues resolved. He was looking for a heat reducing window film, glare-reducing window film, and UV window film that would also still allow natural light into the unit. The homeowner did window treatment research and came across window film from American Window Film’s website. He decided to request a free quote to learn more about window film to see if it would be a good fit for the home and the issues he was having.
American Window Film’s goals for this project were simple. We wanted to help the customer find a window film that would help reduce heat, reduce glare, and protect against sun fading without compromising views or changing the aesthetic of the house. Our sales representative’s goal was to also educate the customer on the different home window tinting options available on the market.
When our sales representative met the customer at the home he could definitely understand why he was looking for a window film that wouldn’t compromise ocean views or change the aesthetics of the unit because the views from the home are breathtaking. Our sales representative wanted to gather as much information about the project as possible to make sure the customer is as informed as possible. He showed the customer different window film samples and explained the benefits of each one to the customer.
Since the customer was looking for a high-performance window film that would reduce heat and reduce glare without compromising any views, our sales representative suggested any ceramic product. He suggested a ceramic window tint because they don’t contain any metals or dye, which are the components that would hinder views, and they are also high performing. He also suggested ceramic window tint because it will help protect against sun fading and prolong the lifespan of furniture, flooring, and expensive belongings.
After talking with our sales representative and seeing what options are available on the market, the customer decided to take his suggestion and move forward with a solar ceramic window film. The window film the customer chose blocks 50% of heat and 99% of ultraviolet rays. 50% of total solar energy rejected is going to make the home noticeably cooler without having to turn on the air conditioner or putting down any blinds or shades. They will be able to have a comfortable home while still enjoying their ocean views. Ultraviolet rays are the leading cause of sun fading, so by blocking 99% of them, the customer is being proactive about sun fading. While window film won’t completely stop sun fading from happening, it will prolong it and extend the lifespan of the customer’s furniture, floors, and expensive belongings.
The customer was pleased that there was a window film on the market that checked off everything they were looking for. With that being said, the customer decided to have the solar ceramic window film installed to the master bedroom, master bathroom, bathroom, bedroom, living room, and kitchen in the home. The installation ended up being 30 windows and 516 square feet of ceramic tint installed. It took a team of 2 installers 8 hours to complete. In addition to solar film and solar ceramic film, American Window Film also services decorative window film, custom graphics, anti-graffiti film, window security film, and exterior building wraps.
