American Window Film did a home window tinting installation in Santa Monica, California! A lot of the case studies we do are with one window film to help with one problem. This customer was a little different because they were experiencing a few different problems in their home. They were experiencing a lack of privacy in the downstairs bedroom and increased heat in almost all of the rooms in the house. This customer also already had an existing window film installed, and they were looking for a different product that offers maximum heat rejection for the windows in their home. They looked up window film companies in their area and came across American Window Film’s website. They decided to reach out for a free consultation so they could see all of the different window films that are available on the market.
American Window Film’s goals for this project were to meet the customer at the home to gain a better understanding of what they were looking for, so that’s what we did! Our sales representative met the customer at the home to take a look at the windows in question and to learn the specifics of what the customer was looking for in window film. The customer explained that they have existing window film installed to the glass throughout the home, but they aren’t happy with the performance of it. They were looking to remove the existing window film and replace it with a higher-performing window film that has maximum heat rejection. The customer went on to explain how the entire house gets really hot and uncomfortable to be in, which ultimately results in a high electricity bill. The customer explained that in the master bathroom and the bedroom downstairs there is also a lack of privacy that they would like to address. While the customer is looking to reduce heat in the home, they also would like to maintain views outside as much as possible. From there, our sales representative showed the customer different window film samples that he thinks would be a good fit for their home so they can see what it looks like held up to their glass and learn about the benefits of each window film.
Since the customer was looking for maximum heat rejection while maintaining views, our sales representative suggested the Huper Optik ceramic window tint line for the majority of windows throughout the home. For the bathroom windows, he suggested a reflective window film because it provides maximum heat rejection, increases privacy, and still allows visibility outside. For the bedroom downstairs, our sales representative suggested a frosted window film because it increases privacy and doesn’t allow any visibility in or out of the glass. Our sales representative went through the specification card for each of these window films and explained the different benefits to the customer so they can choose what window film is the best fit for the home.
After working with our sales representative, learning about their different options and benefits, the customer decided to take all of our sales representative’s suggestions. In the master bedroom, stairway, family room, living room, and bedrooms, the customer decided to install a Huper Optik ceramic window tint, specifically Ceramic C50. This ceramic window film doesn’t contain any metal or dye, which means views outside will remain completely intact. It blocks 50% of heat, 45% of glare, and 99& of ultraviolet rays. This will make the home cooler without having to use the air conditioning, and protect belongings from sun fading. For the master bathroom, the reflective window film the customer chose is DR25 blocks 65% of heat, 75% of glare, and 99% of ultraviolet rays. Since it is a reflective window film, the customer will still have views outside, but from the outside looking in, it looks like a mirror. It increases privacy, reduces heat, and maintains views outside. For the downstairs bedroom, the customer installed frosted window film which significantly increases privacy as it doesn’t let people see inside or out of the glass. That is perfect for this room because it is on the main floor where people outside or walking by can easily see in.
The customer was really happy that there was a window film that helped solve each of their problems. They decided to move forward with the removal of the existing window film and replacement with the ceramic window tint, reflective window film, and frosted window film. This installation ended up being 145 square feet of removal and 278 square feet of installation. It took 9 hours to complete. In addition to solar film and decorative window film, American Window Film also services custom graphics, anti-graffiti film, window security film, and exterior building wraps.
