American Window Film installed frosted window film to Amazon in Seattle, Washington! Seeing that we have an office located in Seattle, we are lucky enough to have a great relationship with Amazon and we do a ton of work for them. Amazon has a storage fulfillment center that was in serious need of privacy. The storage fulfillment centers are the buildings that receive inventory and shelf products, so they have a lot of money worth of products in them. Amazon felt that the storage fulfillment center needed increased day and night security for safety and security purposes. They didn’t want people walking or driving by to be able to see into the building and see the products being held there. They were trying to add onto their security system to try and prevent thefts and break-ins, ultimately making sure the building is as safe and secure as possible. The architect that works with Amazon already had a window film spec’d out and Scott, our sales representative in our Seattle office, worked with the construction team responsible for this project to help Amazon get day and night security. American Window Film's Goals

American Window Film’s goals for this project was to work with the construction company to get a privacy solution for the storage fulfillment center. Scott met with the construction company to talk about the window film that is spec’d and to get a better idea of the specific pain points they are having. When Scott met the construction company at the storage fulfillment center, he learned that the customer was specifically looking for privacy during both the daytime and nighttime. They didn’t want people to be able to see into the building at any point during the day for theft reasons.

What the Customer Chose

The window film that was spec’d was Llumar frosted window film. The main reason why frosted window film was spec’d for this project was that the customer was looking for both daytime and nighttime privacy. A tinted film like a solar film will increase privacy during the day, but at night when lights are turned on people will still be able to see straight into the building. If you are looking for privacy during the day and during the night, a decorative window film is going to be your best option. Most decorative window films are opaque and are going to prevent people from seeing into our out of the building. Frosted window film is a type of decorative window film that is very opaque. For this reason, it’s going to prevent people from seeing in and out of the building both during the day and at night, which was the customer’s biggest concern.

Results of the Window Film Installation

This was a big installation because Amazon was looking to increase privacy to the entire storage fulfillment center. The installation ended up being 3,500 square feet of frosted window film and it took a team of three installers three days to complete. We talked with Scott, the sales representative that worked on this project, what his overall thoughts on the installation were and he said, “Llumar frosted window film is a great solution to stop visibility into the storage area to reduce theft. What you can’t see you can’t steal and this window film is always readily available for a quick and efficient installation.” We couldn’t agree more!
