American Window Film installed decorative window film to an orthodontist’s office in San Mateo, California! This is a new office that hasn’t opened yet. The furniture and appliances are getting installed and the orthodontist is doing the finishing touches to get the office ready to open. As the opening date was getting closer and everything was getting moved in, the orthodontist quickly realized that the office has a severe lack of privacy and a lot of glass that was cold and uninviting. With that being said, the orthodontist was researching privacy window treatments when he came across American Window Film’s decorative window film webpage. He decided to request a free consultation with one of our sales representatives to learn more about window film in general and see if it would help with his privacy issues throughout the office space.

American Window Film's Goals

American Window Film’s goals for this project were to help the business owner find a window film solution that would increase privacy and add a decorative design. In order to do this, our sales representative met with the business owner at the office to take a look at the glass and see what we were working with. While meeting with the customer, our sales representative was able to talk with him to get a clearer understanding of what exactly they were looking for the window film to accomplish. In speaking with the customer, the business owner explained that they want to increase privacy, but they don’t want to completely block views through the glass. The orthodontist also mentioned that they might be interested in a subtle pattern to add a decorative design to the office space.

American Window Film's Suggestions

After meeting with the orthodontist at the office and learning more about what they are looking for, our sales representative agreed that decorative window film would be the best fit for this project. From there, our sales representative talked with the customer about the different decorative film options available. The awesome thing about decorative window film is the wide variety of options you have. There are decorative window films that have different opacities, which is the level you can see through. There are also different patterns that you can choose from, some being more subtle than others. There are stripes, dots, lines, shapes, and more...the options are endless! After working with the customer and hearing what they were looking for, our sales representative suggested a decorative window film that was higher in opacity for privacy and has a subtle design factor.

What the Customer Chose

A After working with our sales representative, hearing about the different options, and seeing different decorative window film samples, the customer was ready to make a decision! He decided to move forward with a decorative window film called 3M Fusion Pearl. This decorative window film increases privacy through the glass, but also still allows natural light to enter the rooms. It has a very subtle decorative pattern that will add decor to the space without overpowering it. This decorative window film looks like textured glass but is a fraction of the price. When installed, this decorative window film makes it more difficult to see into rooms, increasing privacy and confidentiality for patients, which was the orthodontist’s primary goal. 

Results of the Window Film Installation

The orthodontist decided to move forward with the decorative window film on six glass panes throughout the office. This installation ended up being 137 square feet of decorative window film and took a team of two installers 8 hours to complete.
