Business owners! We have another case study for you and this one isn’t about heat or glare either! It’s about adding a custom design to your office space. American Window Film installed custom graphics at the OC Department of Child Services in Santa Ana, California. Seeing as this is the department of child services, they deal with a lot of confidential cases and they work with children. With that being said, the business owner wanted to increase privacy in the lobby and entry area glass while incorporating a family-friendly design!

The business owner had existing window film installed, so he was familiar with it. He liked the window film because it increased privacy, but it was old and outdated. He was interested in getting the existing window film removed and replaced with something new that would provide both privacy and a custom design. He did research and came across American Window Film’s custom graphics page and decided to reach out for a free quote!

American Window Film's Goals

Our goal for this project was to meet with the customer at the office to learn what they were looking for specifically with custom graphics and help them find a solution. Our sales representative met with the business owner at the building to take a look at the glass in question and to learn the details on the project. The business owner explained that privacy and confidentiality are a big part of the business. He went on to say that they also wanted something that would make the space feel welcoming and inviting for the children. He went on to explain that the installation would need to be done after hours, as to not get in the way of the customers.

After listening to the business owner talk and learning the details of the project, our sales representative confirmed that custom graphics would be a good fit for this space. What the Customer Chose

The customer decided to take our sales representatives' suggestion and go with the custom graphic option! He chose custom graphics because he felt he could increase privacy and get that custom design factor he was looking for. The business owner had an idea of what he was looking for for the lobby area, so he synced up with our graphics department to square away the details. Our graphics department went back and forth with the customer to figure out the design they wanted.

Together, they came up with the design you see in the photos. Once a design was put together, our graphics department put together a proof and sent it over to the customer so they can see what it will look like. The customer approved the proof and we were then ready to go with the installation! The customer chose this design option because it increases privacy back into the office portion of the building. It separates the office space from the entry and lobby space. The design itself shows people exercising and having fun, which creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere the building owner was looking for.

Results of the Window Film Installation

This project ended up being 335 square feet of window film removal and 335 square feet of installation. It took a team of two installers 12 hours to complete. Our installation crew worked after hours to finish this scope, to ensure no distractions during the workday. We talked with Jeff, the sales representative who worked on this project, what his overall thoughts on it were. Jeff said, “the design turned out amazing and it really transformed the entire lobby and entry area.” I don’t know about you, but we think that is awesome! We were able to bring the customer’s vision to life and provide privacy while creating a custom design that makes the space feel warm and welcoming.
