Ceramic Window Tint at a Home in Palos Verdes, California

We are back at it this week with another residential installation! For this project, we installed ceramic window tint to a home in Palos Verdes, California. Having several offices in Southern California, we are fortunate to see a ton of beautiful homes and ocean views. This customer is no different. Their home has gorgeous ocean views that they want to take advantage of by having several large windows and doors throughout the home. If you have read any of our case studies or blogs, you know that unfortunately, with large windows and doors comes heat and glare.

The heat radiates through the glass making the home hot. Glare also comes in through the glass and reflects off of TV screens, computer screens, and even other glass. Especially in the past few months where we are all spending more time at home, you must be comfortable in your own home. With that being said, the homeowner was looking for a window treatment that would help reduce heat and reduce glare. They currently have existing shades, but they were looking for another solution because the shades make the home dark and they cover up the ocean view. With that being said, the customer was looking for a solution that would reduce heat and reduce glare without compromising their ocean views. That’s where American Window Film came in! Keep on reading to learn how we helped this customer with their heat and glare problems!

American Window Film's Goals

American Window Film had a few goals for this project. The first goal was to meet with the customer to build a relationship and to hear exactly what they are looking for in window film. Our next goal was to suggest a few window films to the customer based on what they were looking for. Finally, our main goal was to help the customer find the perfect window film for their home that would reduce heat and reduce glare while maintaining their ocean views.

When our sales representative met with the customer at their home he could feel the heat they were experiencing. The customer expressed that they were looking for a high performing window film to help with the heat and glare. The customer also said that maintaining their ocean views is their main priority. From there, our sales representative showed the customer different window film samples that might be a good fit for their home.

American Window Film's Recommendations

Since the customer was looking for a high-performance window film that would reduce heat and reduce glare without compromising the ocean views, our sales representative suggested the Huper Optik ceramic window tint line. He suggested this window film first and foremost because it is high performing. Every window film in the line is going to significantly reduce heat and reduce glare. Ceramic window tint contains no metals or dyes, which means the overall aesthetic of the home isn’t going to drastically change and the ocean views will still fully be intact. One thing that is important to note is that there are specific window films that are safe to install on glass that is near the ocean. If there is metal in the window film the salt from the ocean oxidizes it and will eventually cause it to corrode. Since ceramic window film doesn’t contain any metal it is safe to install to glass near the ocean, which is a big reason why our sales representative suggested it for this customer.

What the Customer Chose

After the customer met with our sales representative and learned the different window film options that are available on the market, they decided to take our sales representative’s suggestion and move forward with a Huper Optik ceramic window film. Specifically, the customer chose Ceramic 40 (C40). This ceramic window tint blocks 55% of heat, 53% of glare, and 99% of ultraviolet rays. By blocking 55% of heat the home is going to be significantly less hot without having to turn to the air conditioner or using the blinds. Blocking 53% of glare is going to make the home noticeably more comfortable and even productive if the customer is working from home. No more annoying glare hitting your eyes while you are trying to work or watch TV. Finally, ultraviolet rays are the biggest cause of sun fading, so by blocking 99% of them, the customer can have peace of mind that the lifespan of their furniture and belongings are being protected from the sun.

Results of the Window Film Installation

The customer was pleased that American Window Film was able to help them find a window film solution that reduces heat and reduces glare without giving up the gorgeous ocean view. The customer decided to have the ceramic window tint installed to the windows and doors in the family room, dining room, living room, kitchen, office, basement, master bedroom and bathroom, stairs, east-facing bedrooms, and west-facing bedrooms in the house. This installation ended up being 118 panes of glass, 594 square feet of window film and took one day to complete. In addition to ceramic window tint and solar film, American Window Film also services decorative window film, window graphics, wall graphics, anti-graffiti film, window security film, and exterior building wraps.
