American Window Film installed ceramic window tint to a home in Laguna Beach, California! This home is located on a cliff and has beautiful views of Laguna Beach and the ocean. To utilize the views, the home has floor to ceiling windows and doors throughout it. The home has existing window film that was installed several years ago. Since the home does have so much glass, the homeowner thinks window film is necessary to help reduce heat, reduce glare, and protect against sun fading.
However, the homeowner didn’t like the existing window film and wanted to learn more about the different options they have when it comes to home window tinting. They researched window film companies near them and came across American Window Film’s residential solar film webpage. They learned that window film can reduce heat, reduce glare, and protect against sun fading without compromising any views. They decided to request a quote to learn more about what their different options are when it comes to home window tinting!
American Window Film’s goals for this project were to meet with the customer at the home to talk about their goals and learn more about the project details. When our sales representative met with the customer, he learned that their top priority was not to compromise any of their views outside. The homeowner explained that since there is so much glass throughout the house, it gets hot and uncomfortable. The homeowner also expressed that they are also concerned about their furniture and floors fading from the sun and were interested in learning more about what window films are available on the market that will check off these boxes.
Our sales representative talked with the customer about the existing window film on the glass and what they like and dislike about it. The homeowner let our sales representative know that they liked the heat rejecting performance and the glare rejecting performance but they didn’t like the color of the window film or the way it made the home look. From there, our sales representative took measurements of all of the glass, showed the homeowner different samples of the options they have, and explained the benefits of each one.
Since the customer was looking for a heat reducing window film and a glare reducing window film that wouldn’t change the look of the home or compromise their ocean views, our sales representative suggested Huper Optik ceramic window tint and 3M Prestige window film.
He suggested these two window film lines because neither of them contains metal and they aren’t going to drastically change the look of the home or compromise the ocean views. Both of these home window tinting options reduce heat, reduce glare, and protect against sun fading.
After meeting with our sales representative and learning his suggestions as well as the options and benefits of each window film, the customer decided to take our sales representative’s suggestion and go with one of the Huper Optik options! The homeowner chose a ceramic window tint called Ceramic 40 (C40). This ceramic window tint blocks 55% of heat, 53% of glare, and 99% of ultraviolet rays. Blocking 55% of heat is going to make a significant difference in the temperature of the home. The home will be cooler without the homeowner having to turn on the air conditioner or using blinds or shades that will block their ocean view.
Blocking 53% of glare will also increase the home’s comfort and productivity. Lastly, ultraviolet rays are the leading case of sun fading, so by blocking 99% of them, the homeowner can have peace of mind knowing that the lifespan of their furniture and floors are being extended. Ceramic window tint is 100% dye free and 100% metal free. This means that the aesthetic of the home isn’t going to drastically change and views outside are going to remain completely intact.
The customer was really pleased with the outcome of the installation. They were able to find a home window tinting solution that reduces heat, reduces glare, protects against sun fading, and doesn’t compromise their beautiful ocean views. The homeowner decided to remove all of the existing window film and install this ceramic window tint to the living room, dining room, family room, office, and kitchen.
The installation ended up being 812 square feet of removal and 866 square feet of new window film installation. It took a team of three installers, two days to complete. In addition to ceramic window tint and solar film, American Window Film also services decorative window film, custom graphics, anti-graffiti film, window security film, and exterior building wraps to homes and offices all over the country.
