3M Night Vision Window Film Installation at a Casino in Tacoma, Washington

American Window Film installed a 3M Night Vision window film to a casino in Tacoma, Washington! The main room in the casino consists of large floor to ceiling windows to maximize natural light and to enhance views outside. The owner of the casino was receiving multiple complaints from customers that the casino is unbearably hot and uncomfortable and the afternoon glare makes it hard to see the machines.

The owner of the casino was looking for a way to reduce heat and reduce glare without losing natural light or compromising the aesthetics of the building. The customer did research online and found American Window Film’s commercial solar page that talks all about reducing heat and reducing glare. The customer decided to reach out for a free quote to see if window film would be a good fit for the casino!

American Window Film's Goals

American Window Film’s goals for this project were to meet with the customer at the casino to take a look at the windows that were causing heat and glare problems. Our sales representative’s priority is to meet with the owner of the casino to learn more about the project and what they were looking for in window film. While onsite, our sales representative will also take exact measurements of the glass, make suggestions of window film based on what the customer is looking for, and show the customer samples of different window films that would be a good fit for their project.

What American Window Film Suggested

After meeting with the customer, our sales representative learned that heat and glare are a huge problem in the casino. Especially in the afternoon, heat radiates off of the glass making the space unbearably hot and difficult to see the machines. The owner of the casino expressed that while they wanted to reduce heat and reduce glare, they didn’t want to drastically change the look of the space and they still wanted the ability to see out.

After hearing what the customer was looking for specifically, our sales representative made a few suggestions on different window films he thought would be a good fit for the casino. He showed the customer the different samples and explained the benefits and statistics of each one so the customer could make a decision that would be best for them and the casino. 

What the Customer Chose

After hearing all of our sales representative’s suggestions and seeing the different samples, the customer decided to take our sales representative’s suggestion and move forward with a 3M Night Vision window film, specifically 3M Night Vision 15. This 3M Night Vision window film has a warm and natural hue to it going to enhance the space without drastically changing the look of it. It blocks 71% of heat, 83% of glare, and 99.9% of UVA and UVB rays. Blocking 71% of heat is going to make a noticeable difference in the temperature of the casino. Guests will be more comfortable and the management should see a decrease in the electricity bill as the glass will be more energy efficient.

Blocking 83% of glare is also going to make guests more comfortable while using the machines because that annoying glare will be gone. The guests can enjoy the casino in comfort! Ultraviolet rays are the leading cause of sun fading, so by blocking 99.9% of them, the interior furniture, floors, and expensive items are being protected against sun fading. The customer felt that this 3M Night Vision window film was the perfect solution for the casino and decided to install it in all of the problematic areas.

Results of the Window Film Installation

This installation ended up being 1,796 square feet of 3M Night Vision window film and took a team of two installers one full day to complete. The customer was happy with the results of the installation because we found a window film that reduces heat, reduces glare and doesn’t change the overall appearance of the building too much.
