A mile up, there is less air between your windows and the sun, and UV exposure rises with elevation. That is why hardwood, rugs and sofas near south and west glass can fade faster than owners expect.
Most home window tinting in Denver starts in one of three houses: a brick foursquare in Washington Park or Congress Park, a Highland bungalow with deep porch windows, or a new LoHi or Central Park townhome with walls of glass.
As a 3M Commercial & Residential Prestige Dealer, we lead with neutral 3M™ Prestige Series film that cuts heat and glare without a mirrored look.
Browse our home window film lineup or read how to slow fading at home.
For doors, sidelights and garden-level windows, clear 3M™ Scotchshield safety film adds a second layer of protection.
Every Denver window film job we take on is run by one team from first visit to final clean, and the installers are our own in-house Denver team.

By National Weather Service sky-cover counts, Denver sees far more clear and partly cloudy days than cloudy ones, winter included. Rooms that face the mountains take the hardest sun from midafternoon on.
In winter the sun rides low across the southern sky, so it reaches deep into living rooms and bounces off fresh snow. A cold January morning can be the worst glare of the year.
3M™ Prestige Series film holds back much of the heat and filters most UV, yet the glass still looks nearly untreated, and it has no metal to interfere with phones. Compare heat-blocking film, glare-reducing film and sun control film for homes.
We will not promise a set drop in your energy bill, because results hinge on the glass, the orientation and the shade trees outside.

A break-in at a house usually starts at the weakest glass: a front-door sidelight, a back patio door or a basement window by the alley. That is where our security estimates start too.
In 3M's own words: "Help delay intruders and help provide extra response time with 3M Scotchshield Safety & Security Window Film Ultra Series S800 + 3M IPA Sealant."
Window films are not bulletproof and are not designed to stop intruders. Safety film keeps a broken pane together in its frame longer, and it does not stop hail from cracking a window.
A central home on our project list paired S800 with exterior 3M™ Prestige 90 across 12 panes in 2026.
Start with home safety and security film, or see security film for businesses and school safety film.
Glass we reinforce most in houses and small offices:
Our estimator checks each frame before recommending a film, because the attachment matters as much as the thickness. Some older wood frames cannot take an attachment system, and we will tell you that at the estimate.
On its own, safety film keeps a shattered pane in one sheet. Bonding that sheet to the frame with 3M™ Impact Protection Adhesive helps it stay in the opening.

3M™ Scotchshield Ultra S800 suits most home doors and windows. For larger or higher-risk openings, 3M puts it this way: "Developed to absorb impact: 3M Scotchshield Safety & Security Window Film S2400 + 3M IPA."
The adhesive shows as a neat line where glass meets frame. We show you photos of finished work before you decide, so nothing about the look surprises you. Available in White and Black .
New townhomes in LoHi and Central Park often stand a few feet from the next building, so a bathroom or bedroom window can line up with a neighbor's window. Frosted film fixes that and still lets daylight in.
On a state agency floor along 17th Street, we finished 331 panes of office and conference glass with 3M™ Dusted Crystal and custom printed graphics in 2025. See privacy window film for offices.
After dark, a reflective tint flips and shows the lit room inside. Frosted window film screens a bathroom or street-side bedroom around the clock.

Our largest recent project here covered 100 panes of the airport's Great Hall with exterior 3M™ Prestige 40 in 2025. Exterior-grade film is made for the weather side of a pane, which suits big terminal and atrium walls.
Commercial window tinting in Denver also means smaller rooms: a state agency floor on 17th Street, a credit union branch in the southeast and a Five Points office suite. Each one brought a different problem, from glare to privacy to glass safety.
Property managers get product data, a glass compatibility check and insurance certificates before we book a date, and occupied floors can be scheduled after hours. See commercial sun control film and ways to ease tenant comfort complaints.

A sunny Denver afternoon can turn into a cold night fast, and original single-pane sash in an early 1900s foursquare gives up warmth quickly once the sun drops.
Low-E window film is an interior layer that sends room heat back inside in winter and still cuts summer heat gain. Results differ from window to window, so the estimator checks which rooms suit it and which need a different film.
Winter sun is welcome on south glass, and a National Renewable Energy Laboratory study found some films give up part of that free warmth. We weigh orientation room by room. Compare energy efficient window film options.
Glass that gains the most from a low-E layer:
Sometimes new windows are the smarter spend, and we will tell you when that is the case. Triple-pane glass is one we usually leave alone, and we will tell you which panes are a fit.
Book a Free In-Home EstimateFor a Five Points office suite in 2026, we paired 3M™ Dusted Crystal with clear 3M™ Scotchshield Ultra S800 on 13 panes, so the street-level glass gained both screening and strength.
The 3M™ FASARA™ collection adds etched, linen and gradient looks to glass you already own. Browse decorative film for businesses or decorative film for homes.
In a historic house, film on a bathroom or stair window gives the soft look of textured glass without replacing original sash, and it peels away if your taste changes.

Etching and marker tags show up on glass near light rail stops, parking garages and busy retail blocks. A clear anti-graffiti sheet takes that damage in place of the window.
A ruined sheet gets replaced in one trip, far cheaper than ordering a new tempered pane. Details are on our anti-graffiti window film page.
Owners often add it while we are already on site for sun control or privacy film, which saves a second visit.
Surfaces that pick up the most tags:
Attach a picture of the tagged glass to the form, and we will quote the new sheet from it.
Request a QuoteThe state agency job on 17th Street mixed frosted film with custom printed graphics, so the glass carries the brand and gives privacy at once. Our printed and cut vinyl graphics come from our own graphics team.
Nothing goes to the printer until you approve the proof, and the crew that produces the job also installs it.
Shops along Tennyson Street or South Pearl can rotate storefront window graphics each season without touching the glass underneath.

Infill construction and warehouse conversions keep fences and scaffolding up on many blocks. Exterior building wraps can convert those barriers into leasing signs or neighborhood art.
A single project manager runs design files, print, install and removal. Wraps can also hide a tired facade while a building is being refreshed.

Glass that faces Washington Park, City Park or Sloan's Lake mirrors trees and water, and birds fly at the reflection.
Feather Friendly® markers place a dot grid on the glass that birds read as a barrier. Bird Divert™ Clear UV is much harder for people to see, which suits homes where the view comes first.
We usually treat the elevation that faces water or trees first, since that is where most strikes happen.
Glass most likely to be hit:
Tell us which window gets hit and roughly when, and we can size the treatment.
Request a QuoteLobbies, elevator cabs and hotel corridor doors look dated long before they wear out. 3M™ DI-NOC™ film resurfaces them in walnut, travertine, bronze or raw-concrete patterns, and nothing gets torn out.
Work in occupied buildings can be scheduled overnight, and 3M keeps many patterns in stock for short timelines.
It conforms to doors, columns and cabinet fronts, so it suits hotels, offices and kitchens alike.

Downtown law firms, energy companies and public agencies often work behind glass walls, with case files, maps and dashboards on screens visible from the corridor.
Seen from the hallway, a cloaked monitor reads as a blank dark panel, yet the person at the desk sees it normally. Because the film carries no tint, the room stays bright.
Before ordering, we test a sample on your actual displays, since OLED displays and some large LED walls behave differently from standard LCDs.

Every display reads as a blank black rectangle

Inside the room, every screen looks normal and sharp

Several established neighborhoods, including Country Club, Baker and Potter Highlands, are historic districts. If your home is a landmark or sits in a district, check with Denver Landmark Preservation before changing visible glass.
Interior-applied film is reversible and leaves the window itself untouched. We provide spec sheets with reflectivity and light transmission for any review, and we never film leaded, etched or stained character glass.
Newer communities with an HOA mostly care how glass looks from the street, so low-reflectance film is the easy choice there. Our project gallery shows how finished glass reads from the curb.
Homes where a quick check with the city or an HOA makes sense:
If a reviewer wants product data, we supply it.
Book a Free In-Home EstimateSmart film is applied to existing glass and wired to a switch. Off, it reads as frosted. On, it clears to a light haze that shows more when you view it at an angle.
It is a commercial product only. We put it in conference rooms, clinic consult rooms and executive offices, and we do not offer it for houses.
An electrician brings power to each panel, and we settle the layout with them on site before any film is ordered.

We are not aware of a current Xcel Energy rebate for window film. If one applies to your project, we will tell you.
Larger commercial and multifamily buildings fall under Energize Denver, the city's building performance policy. Window film is not a named compliance measure, and research shows its effect on energy use depends on the building.
Schools, congregations and nonprofits sometimes fund security film through grant programs. Use the quote form to ask what applies to your building.
Buildings of 25,000 sq ft or more benchmark energy use every year and work toward performance targets. Film is not listed as a measure, so we treat it as one part of a larger plan, never as a path to compliance on its own.

From start to finish this project went smoothly and exceeded all my expectations. Hugh was great in explaining the various window film options available and the science behind the technology. Lucinda and Crystal were very helpful with scheduling as well as answering additional questions. The installers, David and Wyatt, were highly professional, courteous, and clearly great at their craft. So happy we chose to have this done!

Read All FAQsPossibly. If your home is a landmark or sits in a historic district, check with Landmark Preservation before changing visible glass. Interior film is reversible, we supply spec sheets for any review, and we leave leaded, etched and stained glass alone. HOAs set their own appearance rules.
Window count and size, the film you pick, ladder or lift access, and whether safety film needs edge attachment all play a part. We do not price homes sight unseen. A free in-home estimate gets you a written number, normally within a day of the visit.
Very unlikely once we have matched film to glass. Old single-pane and newer dual-pane units each limit how much heat a film can absorb, so we check glass type and condition first and only recommend films 3M approves for that glass. Any existing crack gets noted in writing.
Yes, with the lighter neutral films most homeowners choose. Darker or more reflective films can show your own reflection after sunset, and 3M™ Night Vision films are made to reduce that. Samples on your glass let you judge before you decide.
It can. Low winter sun brings glare and keeps fading floors all year, and low-E window film helps rooms hold heat through a cold Denver night. On south glass that warms the house in January, we may suggest a lighter film so you keep that gain.
No film can promise that. 3M states that window films are not bulletproof and are not designed to stop intruders. Scotchshield film holds broken glass together and, attached to the frame, can help delay entry and buy time for an alarm or a neighbor. It does not prevent hail damage.
Many homes are finished in a single visit, while larger or security-film jobs take longer, and your estimate lists the timing. Someone needs to let the crew in and point out fragile items near the windows. After that, you can carry on in another room.
Give the film about 30 days to dry before washing, a little longer in cold months. After that, a soft cloth and a gentle cleaner without abrasives are all it needs. Keep razor blades and scouring pads off the filmed side.
AWF is a 3M Commercial & Residential Prestige Dealer. The 3M films we install carry a manufacturer warranty, with terms that differ by product and use. You get the terms in writing with your estimate.
We are not aware of one for homes or businesses in Denver. The Xcel residential rebates we saw cover upgrades like insulation and heat pumps. If a program fits your project when we quote it, we will say so.
