Solar Art installed custom vinyl to an interior design office in Lancaster, California! This is a brand new office and the company hasn’t even moved in yet. They were still in the remodeling stage and were getting everything finished before they move in.The office space has two bathrooms that have sliding glass doors. This might be good for the aesthetics of the space, but not good for privacy. Bathroom doors should be completely private. Instead of replacing the glass doors all together, the customer thought they could maybe have custom vinyl graphics installed to them. Since they are in the design industry, they are familiar with custom graphics and thought they might be a good fit for this space. We have worked with the designer in the past, so they reached out to Solar Art to get a free quote! The customer already had the art file with the design they wanted installed, so our sales representative met the customer onsite to confirm the measurements of the glass and to confirm exactly what the customer was looking for. Our sales estimator noticed that one side of the glass doors was smooth glass and the other was etched. Custom vinyl can’t be installed to etched surfaces because it won’t adhere to it, which means the graphics need to be installed to the second surface, which is the smooth side.
From there, our graphics department confirmed the art file was correct and we had everything we needed. Once everything was confirmed, we were ready to go with the installation. Our installation crew went onsite and installed the custom vinyl. The customer wanted maximum increased privacy so they installed a blue gradient pattern to the glass. People walking by can’t see into the restrooms and those in the restroom don’t have the ability to see out either. When it comes to construction and window film, it is really important to note that window film needs to be the last thing on the list. The dirt and dust from construction work can easily get under the custom vinyl and make for a messy installation. This customer waited and made sure the window film was the last thing done to ensure for the cleanest possible install. The customer was really happy with the results of the installation because they were able to get the privacy they needed without having to completely replace the doors, which saved them a lot of money. Since this is a restroom and privacy is crucial, if the custom vinyl does get worn over time, Solar Art can simply go out to the site and remove the old custom vinyl and replace it with a fresh new layer without damaging the glass at all. In addition to custom vinyl, Solar Art also services solar film, decorative window film, anti graffiti film, window security film and exterior building wraps throughout California and Washington state.
